Monster Truck Toys
Monster Trucks have tremendous appeal to kids of all ages. From toddler age children all the way up to the older children among us commonly referred to as “Adults”, monster trucks have fascinated us since we first set eyes on one. With their over the top graphics and visual effects how can they be overlooked. They are BIG, They are LOUD, and They are built for DESTRUCTION! What more can a kid want?
So it’s not hard to see why Toy Monster Trucks are also very popular. Like many other vehicles sports, monster truck teams and drivers draw their own hardy fan bases. And with that fan base comes merchandise. For the kids and collectors, toys are the center of attention. Nearly every truck in the sport today will have a toy model or two available. And one is never enough. The more monster toys to play with the more fun it will be.
Good for the younger ones
Monster Truck Toys are excellent for younger children since they are in the process of learning about the world in a physical sense, and toys reflect this. With big wheels and bright coloring they are good at building hand eye coordination, color recognition, and can help build cause and effect as the child inevitably tries to drive it over other toys or off tables.
Great for the older ones too
These toys are not, however, only for young children. Older children love them too, and teens and adults are often some of the most avid collectors. Like other vehicular toys such as airplanes, race cars, and toy trains, they can be fun for all ages and have a lot of appeal whether only being used as a decorative item or being driven remote control and played with often.
Simply Fun
The most basic type of monster truck toy is model representation with very basic movable parts, usually only moveable wheels. Basically a miniature monster truck that doesn’t have any motive power, sounds, lights, or operable parts other than the wheels.. These toys are fine for young children and for their general visual appeal. Kids love to make them drive around and jump by hand, and they look great in junior’s room or your own as a curiosity or decorative object.
Radio Control Monster Trucks
Quite often older kids and adults go for the more realistic fun of radio controlled monster trucks. There are many types of remote control (or RC) monster trucks on the market and there are of course many different body designs, colors, and so on. Although there are many styles to choose from, there are only two motor types: gas and electric powered.
Give them the gas
Gas powered RC monster truck toys often do not use actual gasoline, but rather a fuel mixture called nitro. Nitro is a mixture of nitro methane, methanol, and oil. Gas or nitro powered RC monster truck toys can run a long way on the fuel in their tanks and can reach high speeds – often over 65 mph! That’s faster than many cars you see driving by on a highway.
Let ‘em have the juice
Electric powered RC monster truck toys don’t do so badly either, though they are generally slightly slower than nitro trucks. They also have to be recharged somewhat more frequently than a nitro vehicle needs to be fueled up, but they can run for quite a while on one charging.
Both types have all kinds of features that you would find in real vehicles – engines, suspensions systems, transmissions, a chassis, shocks, and so on. They are to all intents and purposes real trucks in miniature form. Monster trucks can often handle rough terrain (rocks, dirt, and grass) and can jump as well as race along flat stretches. These trucks are a great way to get out of the house and enjoy nature or your neighborhood with the kids or on your own.
So how much do toy monster trucks cost? As one might imagine, there is quite a range. The simplest non RC toys aren’t very expensive, and the least expensive RC trucks run around $25.00. As you move upwards to more power and features, RC monster trucks toys can easily cost several hundred dollars. This is such a great hobby however, that you or your child will probably agree that it was worth it.
Check out some monster truck toys for yourself, as a gift, or for your kids. They make a great pastime and hobby, and will delight people of all ages with their stylish look, off road ability, speed, and panache.
